Wedding Elopements FAQs
What is an elopement photoshoot?
Elopement photography is a style of wedding photography that focuses on capturing the intimate moments between the bride and groom. Wedding elopements typically involve a smaller, more private ceremony, and a wedding elopements photographer specializes in documenting these personal and heartfelt moments. This style of photography emphasizes the couple's connection and the unique aspects of their special day.
How do we plan a wedding elopement?
Planning a wedding elopement involves choosing a meaningful location, deciding on a date, and ensuring you have the necessary legal documents. You may also want to hire a wedding elopements photographer to capture the intimate moments of your day. Consider including elements that are important to you, such as personal vows or a unique venue that reflects your relationship.
Can we have a small reception after our elopement?
Yes, many couples choose to have a small reception or celebration after their wedding elopement. This allows you to celebrate with a larger group of friends and family without the stress and expense of a traditional wedding. A wedding elopements photographer can capture both your elopement and the subsequent celebration, ensuring you have a complete photographic record of your special events.
How far in advance should we book you as our Elopement Photographer?
It's a good idea to book your elopement photoshoot at least 6-12 months in advance, especially if you're eloping during a popular wedding season or want to secure a specific photographer. This allows time for planning the shoot location, any permits needed, and coordinating with vendors if necessary.
What's is the booking process?
Our booking process is simple and straightforward. To secure your date, we require a signed contract and a non-refundable deposit. Once these are completed, your date is officially reserved in our calendar. We’ll then have a consultation to discuss your specific needs, timeline, and any special requests. The remaining balance is usually due closer to the event date, and we offer flexible payment plans if needed to make the process easy and stress-free.
What happens if the weather is bad on our wedding or elopement day
We’re used to working in all weather conditions, and some of the best photos come from unexpected weather! If you’re concerned about rain or other elements, we can discuss backup plans to ensure your day is still captured beautifully.
Do you travel for weddings or elopements? If so, are there any additional fees?
Yes, we love to travel! We cover areas up to 100 km from Wellington at no additional cost. For locations beyond that, we can either cover fuel costs or arrange a travel agreement depending on where the event is. If your location is further, we’re happy to discuss travel fees based on the distance and logistics to ensure everything is seamless.
